How can I allow a specific number of free high-resolution image downloads?
If you are a photographer who wants to be able to sell high-resolution downloads but wants to include a certain number of downloads for free, you can use one of the two workflows. You can allow a specific number of downloads in your download settings or send your client a coupon for free downloads. This tutorial will show you how to send a sales automation app for free downloads to your client.
First, you will want to set your high resolution pricing point for your galleries and then create a sales automation app for free product for your client(s). In general we suggest the General Coupon app for this. The app will be saved as a template and can be conveniently used for other future clients.
Begin by accessing your Settings > Store Pricing from the main dashboard and reviewing the pricing under “sell high-res images”. Hover over Sell High-Res Images and click on Edit Pricing.
Set your price per image and click Apply.
While creating a gallery, select Gallery Setup. Proceed by selecting Client Can Download Photos and clicking on Settings.
Select Sell High-Res Photos. Click Apply.
Once you create your sales automation app, the template will be saved for future use. This allows you to conveniently resend the coupon to any future clients. Begin by clicking on the Sales and Automation tab on the main dashboard.
In the Sales Automation tab, click on the + icon to install a new General Coupon app.
You can follow the General Coupon Sales Automation App tutorial we have here, but for this article we will show you how to set up the coupon portion to include free downloads.
Change the Discount Type to Free Product, enter your description, and coupon code.
Then click Select Products to make the code valid for only digital downloads.
Select Download High-res Photos and indicate how many free digital downloads you would like to allow for your client and click Apply.
Once you are back on the in the main coupon tray, review your information and select Apply to save the coupon.
