How can I create a custom product for downloading gallery photos?
You can sell photos through your gallery setup tab, or you can create a custom product(s) for selling photos in the store. The custom products will show up in the gallery store, where your client can choose between all photos, individual photos or even photo packages. In this tutorial, we will go over how to create these custom products and automate them so the client gets the photos automatically after their purchase.
First, you will want to head over to Setting from the main dashboard.
Under the Store Pricing tab, click to add a New Product.
In this section, we will guide you on how to create a package that includes all photos from the gallery. Begin by adding the name of your custom product.
First, set the product name, the subtitle for this product and choose your product group (typically under Other). Then upload the thumbnail product photo.
The product will display in the store with the product name, subtitle and the thumbnail.
Then add the product description, production time (typically “0” days) and add any additional product photos.
You will want to make sure to check-mark This product is delivered digitally. Since this package includes all photos and doesn’t require any individual photos to be selected, you do not need to check-mark This product requires photo selection. The Pic-Time system will deliver all photos to your client in this case.
In order to automatically deliver the files to your client, you will need to select Send files automatically. Be sure to have Send photos to the ordering client selected and write a message to your client. Your client will see the message in the same email that includes their photos. They will receive their order confirmation/receipt and the photos will be emailed in a separate email after. Click Apply after you are done.
Once you set-up your product information and automation, you can adjust your pricing. Set the price for the whole gallery of photos.
You can also add multiple subcategories under this product, by clicking +Add More.
For example, you can offer all retouched or not-retouched photos under the same product. Remember that the categories will have the same product info and settings, so be sure that the description is applicable for all categories.
You can also create a product for individual photo selection. Follow the same steps above, except make sure to allow photo selection by check-marking This product requires photo selection and choose Any amount from the drop down menu. This way, your client will be able to choose the individual photos they would like to purchase under this product.
Make sure to set your files to send to your client automatically and click Apply to save and proceed to setting up your prices. You can add a base price (this will be the price of the product before any photos are selected) and a price per photo. Typically, when you are selling individual photos, you will want to have a price per each photo only. However, you can set-up the pricing in whichever way is best for your business.
Click Apply to save your product in the store.
Similarly to All photos, or individual photos products, you can set-up products for a certain amount of photos. For example, you can set-up a product for 10 photos. Choose Specific Amount in the drop down menu, after you check-mark This product requires photo selection.
Then when setting up pricing, you will want to have a base price only, so the client is not charged per each photo they select. They will not be able to choose any more photos than the specific amount in your setup.
And that’s it! Your client can now purchase their photos from the custom products you created.
